Acne can be especially difficult to combat during pregnancy, as hormonal fluctuations can exacerbate its symptoms. However, it’s important to understand that you don’t have to wait until your baby is born to start taking care of your skin. If you are pregnant and suffering from liver problems, there are many gentle treatments and products you can use to reduce inflammation.
AHA acid peels, cryotherapy and ultrasound are just a few of the treatments available. However, one must be careful and consult a doctor to choose safe products and procedures that will not harm the child. In addition, it is important to follow a healthy diet and use the support of biologically active substances to improve the condition of the skin.
But remember, some products and contraceptives are forbidden to use during pregnancy, for example:
- Isotretinoin p/o
- Preparations with topical adapalene/tretinoin
- Cyproterone acetate
- Spironolactone
- Salicylic acid (FDA category C drug. Keratolytic salicylic acid ointments with a concentration of 10-15% should not be used, but with a minimum concentration of about 0.5-0.9, you can continue to use them)
It is important to consult your doctor to choose the right treatment method and products that will not cause harm to the child.
