Couperosis is a condition in which dilated blood vessels of the skin manifest as tiny red lines on the face and is called couperosis in cosmetology and telangiectasias in dermatology. Rosacea affects a large part of the face, about 1/3, and is characteristic of fine textured skin. In this condition, the capillaries become damaged and react strongly to external irritations. The word “couperose” originated in France and literally means “copper rose”. It belongs to the telangiectasia group and indicates the fragility of the capillary system and connective tissue.
